We extend a warm welcome to all those who have an interest in model boats, MYA Class Yachts and all aspects of marine modelling.
Our Club covers most aspects of marine modelling, members attend exhibitions, charity fund-raising events and club/national sailing regattas.
These can be static, free running or radio controlled, powered by electric motor, steam engine or wind (not I/C).
Replicas of full size craft such as military craft, harbour vessels, merchants ships, tankers, tugs, fishing boats, offshore power boats and sailing vessels: Thames barges, Schooners, etc.
The club has a well supported race calendar for both "Internaitional One Metre" and "Fiesta" yachts classes.One Metre yachts are sailed on the reservoir and fiestas on the smaller yachting pond near the Lido.
Meeting times on the water:
Sunday mornings from about 09:30.
Thursday afternoons from 13:00 - all year round.
The club holds a meeting on the first Thursday of each month, except January, at 7.30pm in Jordan Hill Sports Pavilion, Banbury Road, Oxford.
Annual Membership : £20 for single adult membership and £30 for family membership, for more information please contact the club secretary.
Oxford model boat club owns 7 trophys which are presented at the AGM.
One Metre Rosebowl: Given to the skipper who has made the largest improvement when compared to their
previous years results.
Stewart Wilkins Cup: The overall series winner. (Replaced the ‘One Metre Shield’ in 2013)
Dusty Miller Fiesta 147 Trophy: Given to the skipper who has made the largest improvement when
compared to their previous years results. (Replaced the ‘Fiesta Bowl’ in 2015).
Fiesta Anchor: The overall series winner.
Fast Electric Trophy: for the winner of the Hinksey 400 race series.
George Wren Cup: For the best model built by a member, voted for by fellow members & guests at an
evening gathering, usually following the September meeting.
John Cox ‘Bullet’ Trophy: For the best project in process of construction by a member, voted for as above.
